A. We do our best to put friends together in teams, especially in the older age groups. This can’t always happen, but we do take everything into consideration when putting teams together.
Q. How do you choose teams?
A. We have a match committee who work tirelessly to put the teams together. Everything is taken into consideration with each player. Ie: their age, skill level, height, statistics, communication and behaviour. Sometimes we need to move players around, especially during and after grading period.
Q. What is Grading Period?
A. Grading period is usually the first four weeks of a season. This allows clubs to allocate teams into grades and watch them over that four weeks to see if they are in the right place or not. This may also include changing players from one team to another or in some cases moving the entire team. After the grading period is finished club representatives and Ballarat Basketball come together and discuss all teams and decide upon where teams will be for the remainder of the season.
Q. What is a clearance?
A. To go and play at another club, you will need to apply for a clearance form Ballarat Basketball. This can be done by filling out the online form on their website and paying a small fee. Once that clearance has been granted you are free to play with another club. Clearances normally open up 4-6 weeks before the beginning of a new season. We will advertise this on our Facebook page and also the website.

A. If Wildcats can’t offer you a game in an appropriate team you may ask for a permit to play for another club. You can do this by emailing the club Wildcats email.
